Kneewall & Exposed Interior Wall in Oceanport, NJ

This homeowner’s kneewall in Oceanport, NJ suffered from poor insulation and air leakage. The owner’s conditioned room had cold drafts in the winter and a hot stuffy room in the summer. After removing the fiberglass insulation we air sealed both kneewall floors with orange ZypFoam sealant. The interior wall has exposed fiberglass insulation that is doing next to nothing to insulate the conditioned room. Our team installs SilverGlo insulation boards onto the adjoining wall. Next we draft block the floor bays with SilverGlo and air seal them with ZypFoam sealant. Since there is a larger roof overhang or a larger soffit we, use retaining walls to help contain the blown-in insulation. Finally blow-in TruSoft cellulose insulation to complete kneewall insulation.

We properly insulated the kneewall and the owner now has a house that is more comfortable and energy efficient.

Crawl Space Insulation with Vents in Long Branch, NJ

This homeowner in Long Branch, NJ needed our help insulating their crawl space. Vented crawl spaces need to be sealed properly to prevent outside air from seeping into the crawl space or house. When hot or cold air vents into the crawl space it causes cold floors, drafts above the crawl space, cools heating ducts, causes relative humidity, condensation, odors, pests, mold, rot and more.

We first spray foamed the rim joist, and then our team fastens a piece of our SilverGlo insulation panel over the crawl space vents. Next we installed our SilverGlo insulation panels over the concrete blocks. Finally we use orange ZypFoam sealant to seal the seams of the SilverGlo panels.

Our customer now has a more comfortable house, lower fuel and electric bills.

Poorly Insulated Attic Hatch in West Windsor, NJ

This homeowner in West Windsor, NJ had an attic hatch that was not properly insulated or air sealed. The owner was paying more for their energy bills because conditioned air was consistently leaking into the attic. We air sealed the attic floor and the framing of the attic hatch using orange ZypFoam sealant. Our team created retaining walls to contain the TruSoft cellulose insulation that we blew-in. Next we created a catwalk and dense packed underneath the catwalk using TruSoft insulation. The catwalk is used to help the homeowner or technician reach any of the mechanicals for maintenance purposes. Finally to create a better air tight entrance we installed our SilverGlo insulation boards onto the attic hatch door.

This homeowner now has a much more comfortable and energy efficient home.

Exposed Adjoining Wall in Manalapan Township, NJ

A conditioned room with an adjoining wall to the attic in Manalapan Township, NJ had exposed fiberglass insulation. Exposed fiberglass insulation does next to nothing to insulate. We can see evidence of this by the dirt built up on the exposed fiberglass insulation. The homeowner’s main comfort issues are in the conditioned adjoining room to the attic. If the attic isn’t air sealed, insulated, and ventilated properly the attic air will circulate through the attic and into the conditioned room. We installed our SilverGlo insulation panels which have a radiant barrier to reflect heat and the polystyrene foam is infused with graphite giving it a 24% higher insulation value per inch than standard EPS foam. In this after picture we are still in the process of insulating the rest of the attic.

Poorly Insulated Attic in Manchester Township, NJ

The attic of a Manchester Township home had insufficient insulation, relying on exposed fiberglass that provided little protection. Our inspection uncovered problems with air sealing and ductwork leaks, which commonly lead to high utility bills and homeowner discomfort. To tackle these issues, our team used ZypFoam for air sealing, mastic tape for duct sealing, built retaining walls, and applied TruSoft cellulose insulation, resulting in an impressive R-60 insulation value.
