Small Crawl Space Entrance
A small entrance to the crawl space.
Dirt Floor & Exposed Walls
A dirt floor can allow moisture and gases to rise, while exposed porous walls, windows, vents, and rim joists can cause fluctuating temperatures in the rooms above.
Leaky Crawl Space Walls & Opennings
We will properly insulate vents, windows, rim joists, and any other areas that allow air to leak into the crawl space.
CleanSapce Encapsulation
We install a heavy-duty 20 mil liner across the dirt floor, securing it to the walls with mechanical fasteners and to the floor with spikes, to help reduce moisture buildup from the ground.
Rim Joists, Walls, & Gaps Insulated
The liner or vapor barrier extends to the walls, covering the SilverGlo foam boards we installed to insulate them. We also spray foamed the rim joists and gaps to effectively seal the walls and crawl space.
Closer Look
Since the beam was up against a window, we took a closer look and sealed any gaps around the window with spray foam to prevent air from leaking into the crawl space.
Thermal Barrier for the Crawl Space
We have created a thermal barrier that separates the crawl space from the outside, protecting the rest of the house from external elements.
Completed Crawl Space Insulation
Our team insulated the porous cinder block walls with SilverGlo foam boards, sealed the exposed rim joists and leaks with spray foam, and encapsulated the dirt floor with a CleanSpace liner or vapor barrier.
