Insulation Services Photo Album: Rim Joists & Crawl Space Insulation in Allenhurst, NJ

While inspecting a homeowner’s basement and crawl space in Allenhurst, NJ, our team noticed the rim joists were not air sealed. If the rim joists are not properly air sealed, moisture and air will leak into the house. To prevent air from leaking into the house we spray foamed the basement and crawl space rim joists. Looking at the metal duct in the basement, we noticed air was leaking from the duct. We used mastic sealant to properly seal the leaks to code. Next to help insulate the porous walls of the crawl space; we installed SilverGlo insulation boards onto the foundational walls. Finally the heavy duty, 20 mil thick CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation liner is installed permanently across the dirt floor, sealed with mechanical fasteners to the walls and spiked to the floor. This homeowner now has a properly insulated attic and a more comfortable and energy efficient home.
