Insulation Services Photo Album: Attic With Drop Down Ceiling in Colts Neck, NJ
Before they froze all winter, these customers contacted Dr. Energy Saver for some help making their home more comfortable. After an in-home energy audit, it was determined that these customers had a few issues that needed to be addressed in order to stop air form leaking into and out of their home. On top of most of their insulation being dirty and inefficient, the attic had a lot of spots which were not even covered, doing nothing for the rooms below. Additionally, there was a large under insulated skylight, an uninsulated stair hatch, and the attic had a lot of uninsulated drop down ceiling cavities that were making their home cold. After air sealing the whole attic with foam, cellulose insulation was also added to the attic flats to make sure that the homeowners were keeping their hard earned conditioned air in their home. To stop air from moving through the skylight and whole house fan they were both covered with different types of foam, foam board for the fan and spray foam for the skylight. After finding the solutions that fit this home, it left it's owners feeling the way they should in their own house, comfortable!
