These customers from Manalapan were not feeling comfortable in their own home and needed a solution. They called Dave at Dr. Energy Saver to see if he could help them!
It wasn't too hard for Dave to find the problem with all of his diagnostic tools. He determined that the home needed upgraded attic insulation and to insulate a large knee-wall bordering the attic. To do this we first air sealed all of the cracks and gaps in the attic with Dr. Energy's exclusive ZypFoam fire block spray foam, this ensures that the attic is sealed off from the inside of the house.
Next, we sheathed the exposed attic knee wall with 2" polyunsaturate reflective foam board, while sealing all the gaps around it as well. Finally, the home needed the upgrade to the insulation by covering their existing insulation with 12" more of cellulose to boost the attics total heat resistance value to R-60.
All of these treatments combined completely turned around the situation in the home, everyone felt more comfortable and they were happy to be paying less on their energy bills.
